Welcome to my occasional ruminations on digital media and its use in journalism and education.

Why "Digital Ed?" Double-entendere. The site is a place for discussion of digital education and my SL avatar's name is Ed. That's it.

SL research - an evolution behind?

My headline may not show it, but I have high hopes for the linked research. What I'm pointing out is the interestingly long time frame between focus group (Nov '06) and online publication (not quite yet). Considering the pace of SL development, it's possible that by the time the research is published, enough change will have occurred to render it moot.

Or not. I don't yet know about the focus group or the data it has provided. This could be a timeless set of results ("evergreen," in TV news parlance) -- and for the sake of the researchers and their publication (for those not in academia, losing a pub is a bit like missing an excellent recommendation), I hope it is.

I can't wait to see.
