Ad-supported textbooks

My old colleague Trey Martindale blogged this story from Slashdot.

It may be that the texts from Freeload aren't up to snuff, but if academics could develop a bit of that Open Source spirit (or at least free themselves from the constraints of traditional requirements to publish in dead tree media), ad-supported texts might be interesting.
